Here is a totally mint 2012 Gibson SG in the limited Edition Natural Mahogany Burst. It's in exquisite shape and comes with the deluxe hardshell case. It has been treated with great care and is a joy to play. Grab it while you can!
We have gotten a few questions about the pickups and the fact that Burst Buckers don't have splits. Our research indicates that this is one of the Limited Edition SG's from 2012 with Zebra BB's with coil splits. See attached photo for back-of-pickup shot.

Orignially the SG was actually called the Les Paul, but the Les himself was not particularly found of the guitar, and ultimately it became known as just the SG. It's a shame because the SG has several things going for it such as excellent fret access, good balance, and less shoulder-crushing weight than the original Les Paul. But the SG has it's share of loyalists including Pete Townsend, Derek Trucks, and of course Angus Young. This particular 2012 model is in pristine condition and is a great example of the breed. The Burst Bucker pickups are moderate in output with nice attack qualities, moderate midrange emphasis, and a clean top end. It's our idea of a good humbucker and much like a fine wine: Good body but with finesse and refinement. Played cleanly there is very good note separation that works well for chords and rhythm, but it also stays crisp and defined well into the breakup zone. Pile on more gain and you'll be in classic rock heaven with tones that are tight and crunchy, but without an overly heavy midrange emphasis or a snarly, raspy high end. You can also pull up the volume knobs to access the split coil tones, which are snappy and bright, albeit with slightly lower output. This is not a dark sounding guitar, so how much you'll use the split tones is debatable. We find the split tones are most interesting when using both pickups, and in split/full combinations.Playability and setup of this guitar is excellent, and the 60's neck profile measures approximately .810" at the first fret and .875" at the 12th. The bound neck is a nice feature in this price range, and unless you are a big fan of the chunkier 50's style necks, it's hard to find any fault with how it feels or plays. The SG is a great gigging guitar: Easy to play all night long, plenty of power for rocking out, but enough clarity and detail for a broad range of musical styles. Often overshadowed Les Paul, the SG is a valuable addition to any collection. Please call 508-686-6697 with any questions or visit our website.
