It was built in 1984 which is immediately after the round stamps were finished - an era when Besson produced some of it best tubas ever. The 992 model is considered by many of the top players to be the best BBb tuba Besson have ever produced. This one is in remarkably good condition- please see photos. The only real issue with it is cosmetic in that there is a patch of silver ware on the inner side of the bottom bow and there are some blisters in the silver around the bottom bow joints. Otherwise you will struggle to find a nicer example. The valves are perfect and all the tuning slides move freely. It plays really well with a rich tone throughout the range and there is no sign of stuffiness in the low register. Comes with a good hard case.
