up for auction is a RIGHT HANDED ( yes I mostly sell Left handed guitars but this is my Brothers and Im selling it for him) 1957 Es 175 with PAF.  For your consideration . 1957 Gibson ES 175 with ORIGINAL Case and Original Tuners ,  Original PAF pick up . All that is changed out is pick guard and strap buttons.
The first Gibson electric to feature a Florentine cutaway, the ES-175 was also one of the first Electric Spanish guitars to be fitted with P.A.F. humbuckers and is prized for its playability, craftsmanship, and full rich tone. This guitar is a prime example of the iconic Gibson ES-175 archtop guitar. Debuting in 1949 and in continuous production ever since, the ES-175 is one of the most versatile and famous guitars in music history. (A. Ingram). When the ES-175 debuted in 1949, it was the first Gibson electric guitar to feature a Florentine cutaway beneath the neck, giving easy access to all 20 frets. It also featured a carved rosewood bridge. The ES-175 received an update in 1957 when Gibson chose this model to launch Seth Lover’s recently invented PAF (or Patent Applied For) Humbucking Pickup. This particular guitar is one of only 353 single-pickup ES175 guitars made in 1957.This guitar comes with its original brown hard shell case. As you can see from the photos, the tailpiece as well as the area around the output jack have been expertly repaired by renown luthier Jim Mouradian (repairman to Jay Geils, Niles Rogers, Joe Perry, Ronnie Earl, etc. etc.). The frets appear to be original. This guitar plays beautifully, and sounds like a dream. It is everything a 1957 ES-175 should be. Other than the honest wear one would expect from a fine vintage instrument, the guitar is in exceptional condition. As you can see from the pictures, the frets are on perhaps their last third of life, and the fingerboard is slightly scalloped due to years of playing. There are several binding chips, but none go to the wood. There is a less-than-normal amount of checking for a fifty nine year old guitar. There is a small indentation under the bridge intended to correspond with a tiny set screw under the bridge itself (see pictures) CANT BE SEEN WHEN Bridge is properly located. . The intention seems to have been to have a solid index point for proper intonation. The indentation does not go through the body.  The guitar is equally at home with chord melody playing, single note soloing, or comping. It records exceptionally well. If you wish to hear evidence, the guitar is featured on my guitar instrumental album “A Collection of Lives”, available through iTunes, Amazon, and CD Baby. Write to me for track numbers.
