1973 GIANNINI AWN 100 ALHAMBRA MODEL – Solid Spruce top, SOLID Jacaranda da Bahia side, and solid Jacaranda da Bahia(Bookmatched inside)Rosewood, and fine purflings on top, sides, and bottom. This is one of the highest models made at the factory in the 70's except for the Classical series. Beautiful bossa nova sounds just like the Di Giorgio guitars. Tranquillo Giannini moved to Brazil in 1900 establishing his guitar factory. Giannini in now days makes a wide spectrum of musical instruments including classical guitars. In the bossa nova movement, the late guitar master Luiz Bonfa, and his master teacher, Uruguayan master Isaias Savio. Savio was the fist classical guitar teacher that made a curriculum for Brazilians to learn classical guitar, and lived most of his life in Brazil. Bonfa went to write "Manha de Carnaval", Black Orpheu, a Oscar winning song and movie.In the 70's, the great Japanese luthier Shigemitsu Sugiyama, former apprentice of master Masaru Kohno, established himself in Brazil, and in the beginning made guitars for Giannini. The great concert guitarist, and later luthier, Sergio Abreu, also made guitars for Giannini. Giannini is a 116 years of making great musical instruments of all levels.THE GUITAR This particular guitar is considered a high level made guitar at the Giannini Factory. That can be sensed with the high quality top, marquetry, and overall finish. Solid High Grade Spruce - Clean and great condition. Plenty of saddle to lower the action.
