For sale is this beautiful Fender JV Stratocaster ST 65. This is this is domestic model rather than the export and features the 'Made in Japan' script on the front of the headstock, it moved to the heel of the neck shortly after.As you probably know, Fender Japan guitars of this period are fantastic, and this one is no exception. The contours are sleek and finished in gorgeous Candy Apple Red. I'm loathe to use the word 'rare' as it's bandied about rather willy-nilly on guitar auctions, but you certainly don't see a domestic JV in this colour appear very often. The neck is the typical JV slim-ish C shape and has no major marks or blemishes. The guitar is in original condition, all pots, pickups etc still have the original solder and nothings been tampered with. The only change I had made was having the bridge pickup wired to the 2nd tone control, the guitar was also fitted with a 5 way selector before I owned it. The pickups are the US units you'd expect on this guitar and and clear and punchy - beautiful Strat pickups and the same as found on US Vintage reissues of this period. The guitar is in good condition for it's age, and for an instrument of 33 years it's fared pretty well. The frets have most of their life still on them, with only very light pitting to be found. There are chips in the finish to be noted, they're both shown in the pictures, and a few other dinks. I've tried to show them and on the whole the edges are pretty clean.*****Please note, the guitar will come in a pretty brand-new G&G Fender Tweed case, the same as come with US 57 reissues and worth £150 in it's own right.
