This is an 84-87 E serial is very good condition. These were modelled on the pre-CBS 54 models and are very well made. The fit and finished on this is fantastic. I think it has an Japanese Ash body and the next is in very good condition. It has had a fret dress and plays beautifully with no buzz. There are a few small marks on the body but it appears to have spent much of its life in a cupboard. There are no marks on the neck and she weighs in at 3.8kgs. Neck profile is a soft V shape and I find it is a bit meatier than the ‘62 I own. Classic thin vintage frets. The tuners are new and I don’t have the old ones. Sound wise it is a powerful set of pickups in it. The middle and bridge really honk and the neck is that classic Stratocaster tone. The 2 and 4 positions are classic ‘quackers’. This is a beautifully made, classic sounding strat that will get better with age and is quite rare. I’m selling this because I have got an itching to get a set of Chevalier Pickups and part of the funds will go to that little money sink!
