In 1995, Fender offered a limited run of American Series Strats in the coolest vintage style colours with custom matching headstocks. Daphne Blue, Surf Green, Ocean Turquoise, Olympic White, Candy Apple Red and Burgundy Mist were available. Each colour was offered for 2 months, then discontinued. Some colours are more rare than others - this is the first Ocean Turquoise example I've owned. Made in the USA, these guitars had great features. The body is Alder for good tone. The 25.5 inch scale modern C shape maple neck features a 9.5 inch radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. A trio of American single coils deliver trademark Strat tone. A 2 point trem and sealed tuners keep everything rock solid. The gorgeous Ocean Turquoise paint is set off with white plastic and chrome hardware. Fender certainly doesn't offer Ocean Turquoise much less a matching headstock without spending big bucks in the Custom Shop. This guitar is in excellent condition, with only a few light dings visible, none of which go through the Nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Plugged in it has that iconic Strat sound, arguably the most versatile electric guitar of all time. It has a very comfortable neck with good low playing action, and comes in a ‘suitcase’ style hard case. To see higher definition pictures of this guitar please go to glennsguitars.com
