Welcome to the auction for this increasingly-rare, all-original top of the range Yamaha Super Fighter SF1000 from 1978. If you're reading this, you may know that they sound better and are better-balanced than the SG2000, but never had any high-profile players.
The guitar is in generally good overall condition. There is the odd ding and quite a few scratches, but the front is very tidy indeed. I have attempted to photograph these.
The frets are typically wide and flat, as you often see on guitars of this period. They look to be in good condition. There is considerable marking and tarnishing of the hardware and pickup covers, but that's to be expected on a used guitar which is nearly 40 years old.
Tonally this guitar is amongst the best I've ever played. Don't take my word for it: Google it to your heart's content.
So why am i selling it? Simple: I have two. I can only justify one! In a nutshell, this is one of the great, underrated vintage guitars and this one is a lovely example.
