Victor Baker Custom Model 15" Archtop Jazz Guitar
Up for sale is my prized Custom Victor Baker Model 15" guitar in satin Cello Brown finish. Serial #295.If your looking at this, you probably already know that Victor Baker of NYC is a great jazz guitarist and luthier who's been making some of the the hippest custom jazz guitars on the planet. This beauty is a thinline with a 1 3/4" body depth, a 25" scale neck with Ebony fretboard. Comfy 'C' shape neck profile, 1 11/16" nut width;Arm and Tummy Contours, and very accurate Gotoh Delta tuners. Wood option upgraded to heavy flame Maple back sides, and neck. Hand carved Spruce Top. Set Lollar humbuckers and set tuneomatic bridge. Ebony tailpiece.I requested a small sound block just under the bridge, which works great and reducing feedback. Victor previously made larger triangular sound blocks, but I believe he uses this type of block more now, as a result of how well this guitar turned out.This guitar is SUPER versatile and super comfortable, being a 15" thinline. The weight is only 5.8 lbs on my digital scale!Sounds fantastic. If you'd like to hear it in action, you can check out the MARS 4-TET album "The Blind Watchmaker", where I play it throughout;Excellent condition, with only minor pick scratches on the top. Neck is very straight and frets have little to no wear. No issues, structural or otherwise. Comes with the VB supplied semi-hard case pictured.Unfortunately, financial pressures force me to sell several guitars from my collection.Victor's hand carved guitars start at $5200.
