Class:
Description Brand: WEM / WATKINS Body Type: Solid Model: Sapphire String Configuration: 12 String Dexterity: Right-Handed Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom
Rare 1960s W.E.M. Sapphire 12-string electric guitar.
Built by Watkins in England under the WEM, Wilson, and Wurlitzer brands, these guitars are considered to be very rare.
This is a beautiful and restored example - fully functional and plays easily with low, comfortable action. The guitar is also is surprisingly light in weight. It sounds amazing and with 3 pick-ups, offers many tonal possibilties. It has some dings and dents around the edges of the body, but is in very good overall cosmetic condition for a 50+ year old guitar. The "WEM" badge is missing from the bridge plate. I've done my best to show everything in the photos, please look closely.Work Done:
It's been re-fretted
The "blower" switch has been replaced
The tone knob has been rewired to modern convention, with all the way up being brightest.
Comes with an aftermarket hard-shell case that fits well. I can only find one other for sale, listed at over $1,500.00.Ships to US only. Guaranteed to arrive as described, but outside of that, this is a no-return listing.
