Hofner Club 50 from 1959, serial number 688. The guitar is original (without re-finishing), with the exception of a new Hofner Bridgepurchased by me from Germany. The sound is a treat indeed, and anyone who perhaps played one of these in the 60's is going to go downmemory lane, big time. There are some dinks & scratches, as you would expect a guitar of this age. I think the colour and patina are magnificent. There is lacquer wear to the reverse of the neck, and maybe a long time ago the lower bout at the back has been damaged, seen in the last photo, probably from a fall. However, there is no movement whatever of the damaged area, so possibly only the top layer of laminate. Anyway it enhances the age of this lady at a youthful 58. The new owner will love it. There is the usual chrome tarnishing of the tailpiece.I have two Clubs in my collection, which I am reducing at present.You are welcome to visit and try the guitar, although perhaps my old amp will not do it justice.
