Up for sale, a 1998 Fender '52 reissue Telecaster model TL52-70US, in exceptional, near mint condition and in perfect working order! Built exclusively for the Japanese market at the Dyna Gakki factory, this "Crafted in Japan" guitar was made at a level that provides stiff competition for Fender's American Vintage series instruments. Using a premium ash body with incredible grain in the wood and a one-piece maple V neck, this guitar truly delivers on its promise of classic Tele sparkle and twang through your favorite tube amp. Fat and throaty in the neck position, chimey and cutting in the middle, and aggressive in the bridge position, this guitar covers all the important Tele bases! The pickups are a pair of factory installed Fender Custom Shop '52 "Blackguard" single coils that are designed with the same alnico magnets and output as genuine vintage examples, capturing all the nuance and snap of a Tele. The instrument weighs 7lbs 14oz, medium weight for a Tele and just hefty enough to add a bit of sustain and improve note attack. Professionally setup her at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action and solid intonation, this Tele looks the part and sounds fantastic. The maple neck has a comfortable soft V profile with just the right amount of depth and chunk, filling the palm nicely. The frets are in great shape, with well rounded crowns and no buzzing or dead spots, showing only the faintest wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The neck has the standard 25 1/2" scale, with a 1 5/8" nut width, and vintage 7 1/4" fretboard radius. The headstock sports a set of original Kluson style Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The ash body has a classic butterscotch finish, accented by one ply black pickguard and showcasing the prominent grain of the wood below. All of the electronics work as they should with flat alnico pole pieces on the bridge pickup and a three-way blade pickup selector wired to original potentiometers. The vintage style bridge has three brass saddles and the chrome hardware is particularly clean on both the control plate and bridge. Cosmetically, this guitar has been extremely well cared for, with an immaculate butterscotch finish that's the perfect shade to match genuine vintage examples. There are a couple very small nicks and pick wear on the pickguard and bass side of the body, but no serious wear of any kind. Overall the guitar looks the part of a vintage Tele and functions exactly as it should, with a sweet, soulful tone.
