Here is a hard to find guitar. This is a 1992 Heritage H-140 Les Paul. What makes it even more rare is the fact that it was painted in a Goldtop scheme. These guitars had 2 different runs before they were discontinued. This is a first generation model (1985-1994). It was the first model guitar produced by Heritage. As many already know, Heritage was started by a few, senior, former employees at the old Gibson plant in Kalamazoo. The techniques used to build these guitars were the same used on Gibson guitars of the 1950s and 60s. This one being even better because it is a one owner guitar. The fellow I acquired it from was a Heritage dealer when he bought the guitar. It came out of a collection of over 100 instruments so it shows minimal signs of play wear. It is in fact all original. As you can see the pots date to '91. It retains it's original Schaller humbuckers and the tuners are nicely aged. These H-140 models utilized a Florentine cutaway. From my research this is actually a more expensive production method than a standard Venetian cutaway which is seen on most guitars. These guitars are said to be equal in quality to the famous Gibson Les Paul Standard but are much more rare. On top of that you get the handcrafted quality of a vintage guitar. There is some wear on this axe. There is a ding in the clearcoat on the right waist. There is also a blem on the back of the neck that isn't very noticeable. The neck pickup ring has a crack. Those are the most major. There are also some dings on the headstock from years of restrings. Everything else is minor. It's in great condition considering it's age with no repairs or breaks. This is a collector's piece that can be played. It comes with a hardshell Gibson case from about the same era. The combination latch doesn't and one latch has been replaced.
