** For Auction **                           My SG 1964 Gibson SG .. Made in U.S.A....                               A great player that I've owned since 1974.It's for sale because I'm not playing Rock any more,I'm playing Jazz Standards on an Archtop... It''ll be sad to see it go ,but it's better off on stage than sitting cooped up in it's case.Speaking of the case... it doesn't look pretty ,two of the latches have lost their spring mechanisms, but it's solid. The repair at the rear is from when I caught a rat chewing his way through it to make a nest in the internal box... I caught the little fecker just in time and he's now an ex-rat.The only thing that has changed since I've owned the Guitar is the Bridge Pickup,it has been replaced.. The Guitar is now fitted with a Gibson 57 re-issue item...I really can't remember why this was done (back in 1982 ,I think) .. but the re-issue Pickup sounds great..As you can see in the photos, there's belt buckle scratches on the back and there's an area of about 20mm square where the buckle has gone though the lacquer. On the back of the headstock and the neck there are fine cracks in the lacquer. These have been there since I've owned the Guitar and haven't changed in the nearly 40 years that I've owned it..Up towards the heel there are some small dints.Seems as though dating Gibsons is a difficult procedure.. I've put it as a 1964 SG by looking up the serial number in The Blue Book of Electric Guitars .. Sixth Edition .. Gibson Serialization by S.P Fjestad .The Guitar will be well packed in the case, bubble wrapped and sent to the buyer by Australia Post...Approximate prices are Brisbane/Sydney $35.00  Perth $70.00 Tassie $65.00... Insurance is a good idea and the Australia Post rate is $1.50 per $100.00 value .. eg for $2.500 value, the cost is $37.50.If the postage is any less to your address,I'll refund the difference.                That's all for now.If it sells,I'll be sad,but life goes on.** I'm happy to answer any questions .. Good Luck,Happy Bidding ** * Ebay has put the postage at $30.40,please disregard this amount as the postage will vary depending on where you live .. thanks *
