Offered here is an original 1920's  WESTERN ELECTRIC 1-B Microphone housing with the original WE 387 transmitter element.   This is a great classic microphone in excellent original condition and complete.   A less common version of the 1-B housing that includes a optional boom hanging attachment on the base (original).   As the photos show, the microphone is all 100% original and complete, inside and out.    Guaranteed as described and as recently removed from display.The 387 microphone element is very heavy and impressive, a beast.   Measured approximately 3.5 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick, and is made of machined cast iron and nickel plated.   This unit is very clean and should work.  Well engraved with the Western Electric marking, patent, and model information.The bronze finish on this 1-B microphone housing enclosure is excellent and has nice original patina.   Includes both front and back covers.   The screens are excellent, no holes.   The original mounting springs are all there.   The element is wired but the wires were clipped at the base.   The felt bottom is original and very nice.  A bit dusty, as found condition and not cleaned, polished, or buffed.   No "restoration" and the microphone is untested.Impressive and well made microphone, heavy.    A true classic from the 1920's and the early days of radio.    Measures approximately 8 inches tall and 6 inches wide.   Well preserved and cared for.   The photos are part of the description and should represent the condition but please ask any questions.  Will be securely packed inside and out, and double boxed for safe shipping.   Shipping by USPS PRIORITY or FedEx unless other shipping arrangements are made.    Pickup is welcome.   Will consider shipping out of the US, contact me for details.Also, please take a look my other auctions as I will be selling some very rare and unique items....
