Up for sale, a 1969 Wurlitzer model 200 piano in exceptional condition and in good working order with a rare Forest Green top. This vintage electric piano has been thoroughly maintained and comes complete with the original early-style Wurlitzer legs along with a brand new sustain pedal courtesy of Vintage Vibe. This is the earliest Wurly 200 model we've ever had the pleasure of offering for sale!
The 200 model is notable for having undeniably rich and chimey electric piano tone, with a bit more drive and a slightly different tonal color than the later 200A model, yet still retaining the classic Wurly smooth growl and midrange. The tone is defined and balanced, with an elegant action design that is simply a joy to play, with a responsive and smooth feel unlike any other electric piano. Professionally tuned, voiced, and regulated via our trusted tech at Purktronics, this piano is complete, undeniably cool, and ready for stage and studio work. This piano is in great shape, with little wear to the hammer tips, a very responsive damper rail, and action that is consistent and quick, with no sluggish notes or excessive side to side motion of the keys. The amplifier has been professionally recapped and maintained to achieve the clearest tone and lowest noise floor, ideal for recording. The vibrato control has a nice pulse to it with a waveform that isn't too choppy, yet provides a very present tremolo effect. The original CTS pots date to 1969 along with the stock transformer.Cosmetically, the piano is in truly fantastic shape with a rare and desirable Forest Green top. The top is a shiny, deep shade of green that looks almost black under certain lights and is complete with the original knobs and brushed aluminum Wurlitzer faceplate. The bottom of this piano (with its original metal serial number/model badge) shows only some expected light scuffing and wear around the corners, and this Wurlitzer has been extremely well cared for over the last nearly 50 years. There is very faint patina on the key caps and the original legs and inserts also are in great shape with only light surface wear on the chrome. Naturally, the new Vintage Vibe sustain pedal shows no wear and has been adjusted to work perfectly with the damper rail.
