Hofner 172Early sixties model made in Germany, this is a nice and unusual Hofner fromc.1962/3 with a stratocaster shaped body covered in white vinyl which has fadedto a nice cream with age.The scratchplate is black, and mounted on it are the two pickups, each with volumecontrols and tone controls. The metal bridge is adjustable and the tremolo tailpiece with cover is original and complete. It is possible that the arm is a later one but as thechromework is all good on this guitar its hard to tell. The neck is bolted on - finished in black as original with a rosewood twenty-two fret fingerboard with dotmarkers; and the headstock has the ''Hofner'' logo and six on a side tuners which aregood but not original.A nice very playable little Hofner - all original as far as I am aware apart from thetuners, and quite a rareity!
