This guitar has served me extremely well but unfortunately I'm having to whittle down my collection for an upcoming move. I'm a songwriter and producer and have gotten some great use out of this 1478 Silhouette. It has a very evocative and gritty garage rock sound that brings you right back to the 60s. The vibrato gives it a nice surfy edge and some added versatility. It is undeniably similar to the Fender Jaguar and Jazzmasters, but in my opinion it has a more beefy, gritty tone, mainly due to the silver-foil pickups. I bought this guitar a few years ago at which point I cleaned it up and set it up. It has since been extremely well cared for in a smoke free home studio. Considering it's age, it is in extremely good condition. It plays beautifully and the action and set-up feel like new. The frets are in good condition, and the pick guard is just slightly warped (as seen in the photos). Fortunately it doesn't affect the playability at all and is barely noticeable. The light physical wear gives it a great deal of character in my opinion. There is a streak on the back of the body where the paint has worn off a bit. I'm not sure where this came from but it was that way when I purchased it. The guitar has a 24" scale length and a chunky C shaped neck profile. I've included photographs to give you a better idea of the wear on the body.I will include the guitar's original case, which is not in the best condition but it is a good sturdy case that will keep the guitar safe through its travels. Thanks for your interest and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have. My goal is to find a good new home for this unique guitar!
