Several years ago I decided to design my own custom drum set based on the dimensions and basic construction principles of the Sonor Signature series drums. If you are a Sonor fan like I am, chances are you probably know about the Signature Series drums from Sonor. All of the drum dimensions are identical to what Sonor offered for drums of the same sizes. Because Sonor's design philosophy behind the signature series was to have a shell that would be dense and of high mass, I decided to use Purpleheart wood with a stave shell configuration. Stave shells have 99% less surface area of glue than their ply shell counterparts, and have a very pure and dynamic tone. I also used maple hoops with an elevated bass drum. The result is an incredible set of drums that continues to amaze me to this day. There is nothing like it.Sadly, I am downsizing my gear and I don't need a second drum set anymore. I also have loans I need to pay off and I have to let this baby go. My loss is your gain. The lucky buyer will have one of the most original and best sounding drum sets there are. I have taken excellent care of these drums. Protection Racket soft cases are included. Snare: 14" diameter, 8" depth, 1" thick shell. Puresound snare wires, Nickelworks strainer.
Tom: 12" diameter, 12" depth, 3/8" thick shell. RIMS mount to tom holder.
Floor Tom: 15" diameter, 15" depth, 3/8" thick shell. DW floor tom legs.
Kick: 18" diameter, 16" depth, 1/2" thick shell. MAY Internal shock-mount Shure Beta 52 microphone with XLR jack on the bottom of the shell. DW Rail mount for tom. Gibraltar Pro bass drum spurs. Kick drum is elevated off the ground 2"

Custom maple hoops by Precision Drum CompanyThe Purpleheart shells were first hand-sanded down to a mirror finish with 0000 steel wool, inside and out, and then the drums were finished with clear lacquer.
The maple hoops were hand-sanded to a mirror finish and then stained with pure Tung Oil, rubbed in by hand. If you are looking for the Sonor Signature sound, but want to go a little further, stop here and give these drums your consideration. You will not find anything else that comes close.
