[[[[ATTENTION...I am away until late Friday, so if you purchase before then I may not be able to ship until Monday morning (though I would try to get it out Saturday if possible). After I return turnaround time is less than 24 hrs, usually a few hours]]]  Hurts like hell to have to sell this one but…tis the season for emptying of the wallet. 2009 Fender Roadworn (nitro-finished) Strat body with MJT/ Mark Jenny nitro-finished Allparts fatback neck. His bodies and necks are great. So you have a nitro-finished body and neck. This Allparts neck is about an inch all the way down (if you have small hands may want to pass on this one, but if it fits for you it may ruin you for your ‘thin-fast’ SG etc). Hard to overestimate the benefit of a larger neck in terms of tone, warmth and resonance. Medium frets (.080x.051), 9.5 radius, replacement Wilkinson vintage tremolo system (as used by K-Line guitars, see interview in Tonequest Report June 2011 on the attributes, warmth, etc. of this unit) with pop-in arm (eliminates slippage) and solid steel block for enhanced sustain and clarity, Wilkinson vintage-style tuners, Raw Vintage vinttage style trem springs, and TWO PICKUPS, the very excellent Lollar Specials (there is a middle pickup for cosmetic purposes, but its dead). I play Teles and wanted a fatter, more focused Strat sound (more in the direction of a tele vs a humbucker equipped hybrid), so I got rid of the middle pickup (not into so much warble created by magnetic pull from 3 pickups and really don’t care for the more anemic in-between/rwrp sounds on a strat). See interview in May ’06 Tonequest with Fred Stuart (early Fender Custom Shop builder, now proprietor of Fred Stuart Fine Custom Instruments) on how he impresses Strat fanatics playing his hardtail with middle pickup removed. This guitar gets really fat Pops Staples (see live version of ‘Nobody’s Fault but Mine’ on youtube for reference), Ronnie Wood, J Beck, B Gibbons strat sounds, really swampy through old tweed type amps (and great, more Tele-like in between/two pickup sound), fat and full, but retaining the traditional old school Strat attributes. Jim and John Mouradian are widely regarded as the best guitar repair/luthier operation in the Northeast (see June ’10 Tonequest issue for great interview or google them for innumerable raves), since they began working in Boston/Cambridge in the 1980s. They assembled it, set it up, did all fine-tuning, etc. so you can believe this is a superior guitar (I’d definitely put it up against the Nash and Custom Shop guitars I’ve owned). Asked them to set it up like a Jazzmaster/Bigsby whammy and it is great, with a bit more flexibility, can really get the Neil Young/Fogerty Suzy Q/early Keith Richards Bigsby-style warble. Does come with the back cover plate that hides the trem springs that is not pictured. Played for a year, rarely left my small studio, frets in like new condition…Honestly, having to sell this one left me with a bit of an empty feeling over the holidays.  [Also, if you are interested, for an additional 35 bucks I will include a  longer trem bar (its an extension welded to a Wilkinson pop-in arm, modeled somewhat on the Merle Travis Bigsby arm/coathanger) that reaches almost to the neck and (because of its extra weight as well as length) allows for very easy playability. Looks cool as well. Let me know, if interested I will send pictures]….Please check my 100% feedback carefully and bid with utmost confidence (check out the comments). I've sold many vintage and high end guitars and amps in the past (check my other listings as well for other interesting guitars, effects, etc.). Please ask questions, I'll get right back to you.
