Sometimes a guitar transcends design and engages the player with a vibe so inspiring that the moment you lay hands on it, you know it’s THE ONE.  This incredible build is one of those rare finds that every player hopes to own once in his or her life! -Believe me, If I did not have to pay for my son’s college tuition I would not be selling this amazing guitar.   I have included the full specs below but as any player knows specs alone only provide information albeit necessary information. However specs by themselves cannot communicate what a guitar is like when you hold it in your hands, strum chords, plug it in etc. With that in mind, I will do what I can to relate what can most accurately be described as the feel and vibe of this guitar.   Lets start with the opening the plush lined form fit case. Most obviously the first thing is sight and this guitar is love at first sight truly.  The one-piece top is spectacular in person. Go and peruse the pictures and keep in mind, it’s better in person. The flame is deep and three dimensional and nearly dead straight. Flame maple is rare enough buy usually billets containing flame maple are small and need to be cut and book matched. This is a seriously special build. The top is a single piece of perfectly straight (horizontal and vertical) flame maple. It’s not a heavy guitar either. You will notice that the first time you pick it up. At just under 7lbs it’s perfectly balanced too. Hold it in your left hand at the neck joint and you will see how well balanced it is. On closer inspection you will also notice the scraped natural binding. It really sets off the top and provides a beautiful transition between the “on fire” top and the sophisticated painted black body.   Next start strumming some chords. As a side note, I am a huge believer that even electric guitars need to sound good unplugged. In 30 years of collecting, I have never owned a guitar with poor tone woods that could be fixed. Pickups, wiring, pots, caps etc can all be changed to suit personal tastes but crappy wood will always sound dead and lifeless. This guitar is the opposite.  Acoustically you can hear each note of a chord ring. The entire guitar resonates with clarity and enduring sustain thanks to exquisite construction –it’s all in how the neck and body are joined and Suhr has no peer in this regard. The feel of the neck is superb and you will quickly feel as if you have been playing this guitar for years. The neck and frets play like butter too. You will also notice how all the contours fit you as you play making this one of the most comfortable guitars I have played. When you plug it in you will hear the quality and decades of building experience jump to life. Pick attach is well managed and never percussive unless you slam it. Harmonics are rich and simple to conjure. Yes, All the familiar Tele tones are there but the SSC makes it whisper quite to play at any volume.    In Summary This guitar is inspiring to look at, inspiring to play and is one of those rare guitars that begs to be played.
Do not let this one slip away -It will haunt you!   SPECS:
