Built in 1974, this horn has been my daily driver since 2005, and gotten me through dozens upon dozens of community and professional gigs, and gotten nearly as many compliments for the sound!

The B&H Imperial is renowned for its huge, dark, round sound that will set the foundation of even the biggest ensembles, with plenty of agility to handle difficult passages, and plenty of room to take all the power you want to push into it. This particular horn has excellent intonation up and down its range, even annoying my bandmates with its ability to easily play the pedal B natural in tune - an advantage of the compensating system. Original satin silver finish is 95+% intact, with some minor dents, and one notable dent on the bottom bow where ProTec's strap failed me at shoulder height (doesn't seem to affect the sound any, though). Stout, tough horn that can take whatever you throw at it (including the floor, see note about dent above). This horn even still has it's ball on the bottom bow!

Here's an audio sample of the horn in action (scroll to 2:18 for the payoff, and keep listening for, um, a bit less of a playoff as I mess up a few notes):A ProTec gig bag with damaged shoulder straps (again, see note above) is included with the sale as well, and will adequately protect the horn from the minor bumps of regular use. This horn has the smaller European shank and includes a gold-plated Denis Wick 1 mouthpiece to fit, though I've had little trouble using American shank mouthpieces, preferring to use another MP on it when I play. Though it shouldn't need to be said, everything that should move moves freely, and nothing moves that should not.BTW, if you don't like the asking price, check out that "Make Offer" button and name your own - no reasonable offer will be laughed at!
