This is truly a magnificent guitar and was purchased as an investment in 2011 and owned by me from new, never gigged, abused or even left the hose!!!! This is in near mint condition still having the plastic sheet wrapping on the rear battery panel. The only flaw is a small scratch/ding about the size of a fingernail where the front guitar strap is situated (see picture 4). The guitar has been professionally setup and completely original. It has a unique and awesome finish having 498 and 490 humbuckers at bridge and neck and also a piezo pickup in the bridge for acoustic sounds. This was produced in VERY small production run of only 200 guitars worldwide and no longer available. I have never seen one gigged let alone seen another one in the flesh and they very rarely come up for sale.
According to the "Blue Book": CHAD KROEGER “BLACKWATER” GIBSON LES PAUL A single cutaway Les Paul-style mahogany body, AAA figured maple top, single-ply cream body binding, set 50s-style mahogany neck, 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with figured acrylic trapezoid inlays and star finger makers, black headstock overlay with Gibson logo and “Les Paul Model” script, black truss rod cover with “Blackwater” inscription, three-per-side Grover Kidney tuners, Ghost ResoMax tune-o-matic bridge, stop bar tailpiece, two covered humbucker pickups (bridge: 498T, neck: 490R), four black speed knobs (two v, two tone), three-way pickup switch, chrome hardware, available in Trans. Black finish, 24.75 in. scale, hardshell case included. This one was one of the latest to come of the production line in 2011.
A weight relieved body means that this guitar weighs in at a back friendly 8lbs. The Chad Kroeger “Inspired by” guitar comes equipped with a full gamut of great “tweaks” to the classic Les Paul Line. In addition to its traditional magnetic humbucking pickups, a GraphTech™ Ghost® piezo bridge and related electronics provide an authentic acoustic guitar sound that can be used entirely on its own, patched parallel to the magnetic pickups through two amps, or blended with the traditional tone. Roll from atmospheric ballad to rock anthem at the twist of a knob, or craft your own new tones that blend elements of both. With its killer hand-stained Trans Black AAA-flame maple top and unique trim package – featuring a truss-rod cover engraved with “Blackwater” in silver – the Chad Kroeger “Blackwater” Les Paul looks as unique as it sounds, too. Plus, it features Kroeger’s own idea of adding white star decals along the upper back fretboard, aligned with the standard fret markers, which allow you to see where your hand is positioned when playing on a darkened stage. This guitar is second hand, and has some light scuff marks on the rear that I’ll polish out in due course – otherwise it’s pretty much mint condition. Gibson badged hardcase included as pictured, packing certificate, owners manual and even the original silica crystals bag still in the case. I accept Paypal (preferred), personal cheque, cash on collection and direct bank transfer. Money must clear into my account prior to collection/despatch.  The items will be despatched via Royal Mail or Parcel Force Insured usually within 48 hours of receipt of funds. The guitar can be picked up in Hove, West Sussex during the week or Nr. Moretonhampstead in Devon at weekends. I can possibly deliver somewhere en-route on the A27, M27 or A303 at no costs but only on receipt of cleared funds. Good luck and many thanks.
