Extremely wonderful full original condition Kamaka 'White Label' curly Koa tenor ukulele from the 1970s. This gorgeous tenor ukulele is one of the most sought after generations of Kamaka ukuleles by local musicians here in Hawaii. The face, back, and sides are handcrafted from gorgeous Hawaiian Koa wood and this instrument also boasts a Koa wood neck and a Koa wood fretboard and bridge. Nice projection and sustain with nice warm and traditional Kamaka tones. Intonation is set well and ease of play is absolutely wonderful on this instrument. Center balanced in terms of overall weight of the instrument which makes it easy to cradle as well. Highly recommended ukulele. This piece is a wonderful player instrument that continues to hold a very strong collectible value.Overall this instrument is in nice condition and has undergone restoration at the Kamaka factory. The previous owner requested a gloss finish on the instrument when it was refinished a number of years back. There is also an area at the butt of the instrument that was impacted and has a couple of minor surface hairlines. You can feel them when you run your fingers over the butt of the instrument but they seem very stable and do not move when pressing on them since on the underside there is a thin block of wood at the butt joint, which is a common construction for all ukuleles. It is more cosmetic than anything else. See photos for more details. Aside from that, there are just a few small surface strums over the upper bout area and nicks and dings but that's it! It is a ‘must have’ for the ukulele player or enthusiast looking for that classic 1970s vintage Kamaka sound.
