Up for auction is a Fender Japan Telecaster Custom in Black with a maple neck manufactured at the famous Fujigen factory in Japan back in the 80’s. This is the TCM-600 model which features a 24 ¾”scale (Gibson Les Paul scale) and a scaled down body. The Fujigen factory has been very famous for their impeccable quality on fit and finish on all guitars they produced including the ones for Ibanez. This model has long been discontinued and extremely rare but it still is very much sought after in Japan due to its construction and playability. I remember looking for this particular model back in the early 90’s when I was in Tokyo for a few months and no sign of it in any of the stores. It was that rare back then. For some of you that are not aware in the 90’s the Fujigen factory started producing guitars with their own brand name called Fujigen along with guitars to special music store brands such as History and Cool Z (these are still being produced today). This particular one is in pretty good condition for its age – there are some nicks and light scratches – some of the nicks have been painted over and are hardly noticeable unless you look really close. The serial# is H007XXX which puts this one made between 1988 – 1989. The neck shape is a soft U shape – not super- thin but definitely not too thick. The width at the nut is about 1 5/8”. It is a narrow and comfortable one. The neck is very straight and I did not have to adjust the truss rod – the action currently is set up somewhat low. I did not see any nick in the back of the neck but in the front there is visible discoloration of the clear lacquer coat. The frets are medium jumbo and I could not see any wear on them. The fingerboard radius is aprox. 10” (250mm). All electronics appear to be original. I had to replace the 3 position switch since the original one was failing. The guitar plays very well, and being a 24 ¾” scale with a narrow and slim profile. Having two humbucking pickups you still get the classic Telecaster tones but a little bit thicker and fuller. I think it works great for playing Rolling Stones or even Fusion Jazz like Mike Stern. This one actually looks a lot like the one Keith Richards played from the late 70’s to the mid 80’s. Since I'm starting the bid low and without reserve, it will be sold "as is". But bid with confidence - this is a great sounding guitar in great condition for its age! I will include a soft Fender gig bag with it. Note that it was very difficult for me to find this one and when I did it was not cheap. The only reason I’m selling it is because I have to downsize my guitar collection. Payment method preferred is Paypal and it is expected within 48 hours after the end of the auction. Note that the actual shipping charges shown do not include insurance – if you would like to add insurance please contact me so I can re-calculate and add to the shipping charges. Sorry but no international bidders for this one! If you don’t have at least 10 positive feedback or if you have negative feedback, please do not bid. I’m tired of getting “burned” with non-paying bidders. Good luck and happy bidding! Please check my other auctions.
