Ibanez SS500 If you’re looking at this, you probably know what it is. For those that do not the SS500 was made in China to serve the Japanese market only. This guitar was produced for this limited market for approximately two years then discontinued. It was designed and built to contend with the major builders of high end Jazz guitars. The construction quality, sound and finish are of the best in the business. Supporting solid formed Engelmann spruce top, solid Flamed Maple back and sides and Tiger Maple binding. The details are as follows • Nitrocellulose lacquer finish • Violin Sunburst finish • Constructed in 2014 • Full Hollow body • Solid Engelmann Spruce Top • 5-piece maple and walnut set neck • Ebony Fretboard • Hickory fret markers • Medium frets • Solid Flamed Maple back and sides • Tiger Maple Bindings on body, neck and head stock. • Body width at lower Bout 14.5 inches • Waist: 8.5 inches • Lower bout: 10.5 inches • Body depth 3.125 inches • Ebony pick guard • Ebony tone and volume knobs • Scale length 24.75 inches • Super 58 Custom neck and bridge pickups • Tune-o-matic and optional Rosewood bridge • Ibanez hard shell case I purchased this guitar less than a year ago, and after spending some time with it realized it is too small for my 6’6” frame.
