Description

I have reluctantly decided to sell my 1959 Hofner Commitee. This guitar has been with me for some 40 years and was purchased by myself from my guitar teacher, Cliff Devereaux, who was the original owner . He played it on countless BBC big band jazz sessions back in the fifties .Whilst not in pristine condition, you are bidding on a classic piece of Hofner history!I have played this maybe a handful of times over the years and never gigged the instrument whilst in my possession. As you will see from the photos there are surface cracks and blemishes commensurate with an instrument of this age including some slight crazing on the birds eye maple back . The frets are in excellent condition although some wear on the fretboard lower frets . The electrics work fine and with a little bit of TLC this guitar will really shine. The case , I believe ,is original, too. Please feel free to email questions. International bidders please contact me for rates. Thanks and happy bidding!Hofner Committee Arch top thin electric guitar, 1959, Serial no. 3135,shaped headstock inlaid with a pearl motif, 22 fret rosewood fingerboard with foliate pearl position markers, the tobacco sunburst finish single cut hollow body with birds eye maple back and sides, clear perspex pickguard and two pickups,Hard case
