For sale, my beautiful 1968 Gibson ES175D. I've played a few and this is by far the best I ever tried, in fact it's the best guitar I ever owned and I've owned a good few. Some instruments just have something special and you know it the moment you pick it up. Sadly I need funds so very very reluctantly she has to go, which is something I never thought I'd ever do. Of course, this is the iconic archtop jazz guitar, this particular example from the sixties, but I find it versatile enough to play just about any style, including blues and rock. The low action neck is a delight, the right hand attack on the strings I find sublime for fast picking. In terms of condition, there is checking in the finish (which I hope you can see in the photos) and the odd scratch here or there, the fretboard has some pitting from 50 years of play, but nothing to affect the playability or sound and the frets themselves are fine. The back of the neck also shows significant, and rather lovely, natural wear. Also, note that at some point someone customised the guitar with two extra pots for reasons best known to themselves, and the pictures will show where these have been filled in. But to me these things are all authentic and even an improvement, indicative of a well loved and played vintage instrument. This is the real McCoy, from an era when Gibson still produced the best instruments in the world. This guitar is not mint after 49 years, but it is beautiful. Will be despatched with a non-original hard case (which, as is common, has a non-functioning locking mechanism). Item from a pet and smoke-free household, proof of postage will be retained. Collection preferred but if necessary item will be packaged very securely and sent by courier. Check my feedback and buy with confidence :-)
