Circa 1885, with metal tag to interior ''B.A. Bremond / Manufacturer / Geneva Switzerland'' for maker Baptiste-Antoine Bremond (1834-1925) and original paper label to interior listing all 48 airs on 8 interchangeable cylinders, finished with satinwood, ebony and rosewood veneers, cover with inlaid monogram ''SBR'', the rectangular rocaille-handled lift-top case enclosing crank stamped ''12972'' and levers for change/repeat and stop/start, the glazed interior lift-top enclosing flute celestial voices, whistle, drum and bells with bee-form hammers, atop an outset base faced with a locking fitted cylinder drawer, on a further outset beveled-edge stand faced with a locking fitted cylinder drawer, raised on four octagonal tapering legs, on toupie feet, with keys, overall: 41.75'' H x 54'' W x 29.5'' D, est: $15,000/25,000. The music box and attached base only: 18.25'' H x 47.5'' W x 22.75'' D. Overall good condition, with cleaning and restorations by Antique Music Box Restoration, as stated. Winds and runs. Lid somewhat warped. Scattered scratches, darkening, nicks, cracks and minor losses to veneers commensurate with age, the largest 1.75'' x .75'' to edge of stand. An approximately 6'' x 5'' area of soiling and discoloration to verso of stand.
