For sale is this Hamer Studio P90 Goldtop made in the Hamer Custom Shop in New  Hartford, CT in 1993. For those of you who don’t know much about Hamer guitars, they were the self-proclaimed “original boutique custom shop”, and had been hand-crafting electric guitars since 1973 until their doors permanently closed in 2012. Their quality has long been known to formidably compete with the likes of Gibson and PRS at a fraction of the price, and this Studio P90 is no exception: one-piece pattern-grade Mahogany body with a thick carved Rock Maple top, Hamer-branded Schaller tuners, rosewood fingerboard with 22 nickel-silver frets on a 14” radius, and a pair of Seymour Duncan P90 pickups. This guitar is very resonant and acoustically loud, and weighs in at 8.2 lbs. Being an early 90’s Hamer, the neck has more of a “60’s slim” profile than the chunkier necks they were making in their more recent years.  These Hamer guitars are an outstanding value, and are one of the “best-kept secrets” in the guitar world. This one has been played and does show signs of use (one ding on the top, some buckle marks on the back etc —see detailed photos), but is in overall great condition for a 25-year-old instrument. Some of the binding is slightly separating on the inside of the horn, but this is a fixable issue and is very minor. Comes with Hamer hardshell case.
