Diese Yamaha Steve Gadd MSD-13SG Modell Snare Drum is nicht einfach nur eine weitere 13” x 5” Ahorn Trommel, sondern ein außergwöhnlicher Ton ganz für sich selbst. Mit Stimmen im mittleren Bereich kann man aus dem Gehäuse vollen Wiederhall und die Vibration des Gadd Snareteppich Systems herausholen, während der ausgezeichnete Rebound der Sticks von den Köpfen immer noch ermöglicht ist. Beim Stimmen im mittleren bis hohen Bereich (mein persönlicher Favorite) kann ein klarer, gut abgerundeter und offener Ton vom Kopf, Snareteppich und Kessel gehört werden, die Rudiments singen lassen, während die Sticks frei vom perfekt gespannten Trommelfell springen. Die dynamsiche Reichweite und Projektion des Tones wird leicht von dem trainierten und untrainierten Ohr (fragen Sie einfach meine Schüler als ich diese Snaredrum gegen eine andere ausgetauscht habe) wahrgenommen werden, und ist eine Erinnerung an die Top Level Qualität, die nur Yamaha liefern kann. Ich hatte vorher diese Snaredrum mit einem Yamaha Maple Custom Fusion Schlagzeug gespielt und sie eine gute Ergänzung für das Holz und die Trommel Größen (10,12,14,22). Rimshots klingen großartig auf dieser Trommel, aber leider hat Yamaha die Reifen dieser Serie nicht so gut beschichtet, so dass sie über die Zeit etwas abgesplittert sind. Trotzdem ist diese, dafür dass sie Produkt Nr. 105 der gesamten Serie ist, eine Trommel im sehr guten Zustand!Dies ist ein Sammlerstück, nicht nur weil der Name Steve Gadd darauf geschrieben ist, sondern aufgrund ihres einzigartigen Tons, den einer der Topspieler aller Zeiten in Zusammenarbeit mit Yamaha entwickelt hat. With middle range tuning can one extract full resonance of the shell and vibration of the Gadd snare system while still allowing for excellent rebound of the sticks off of the head. At a middle-high range tuning (personal favorite) can a clear, well-rounded and open tone be heard from the head, snares, and shell allowing for rudiments to sing while sticks freely bounce off of a perfectly tensioned drumhead. The dynamic range and projection of tone is easily captured by the trained and untrained ear (just ask my students when I traded out this drum for a different one) and is a reminder of the top level quality that only Yamaha can deliver. I had formerly played this snare drum with my Yamaha Maple Custom fusion Drumset and had found it to be a good compliment for the wood and drum sizes (10, 12, 14, 22). Rimshots sound great on this drum, but unfortunately Yamaha did not coat the rims of this series well so it has chipped off through the time. Regardless of this, for being product No.105 of the entire series the condition of this drum is very good!This is a collectors item not just because of the name Steve Gadd enscribed upon it, but because of its unique tone desired by one of the top players from all time designed in conjunction with Yamaha.
