What makes this guitar special: A really cool 80’s shredder with a great vibe and pleasing vintage aesthetic, at a great weight for an Explorer. This one was obviously played and enjoyed, with a few marks and signs of usage throughout. The alpine white finish has aged quite nicely into a rich golden yellow, which balances really nicely against the black hardware and ebony fingerboard. It has been professionally setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play out of its original factory hard shell case.Cosmetic condition: Great shape for its age, with expected playwear throughout. Various nicks, dings, dents, scratches, chips, and scuffs throughout, with some light buckle rash on the back. There are two notable chips in the finish on the underside of the headstock, and some binding shrinkage and finish wear on the fingerboard edges along the first 4 or 5 frets or so. There is also some ghosting from where a sticker or two was formerly on the front of the guitar, and some scratching on the bottom of the back of the body where a previous owner appears to have etched his name.  Overall, the guitar has a great look, with an gorgeous patina.Body: Solid mahogany body in faded alpine white finish with Kahler tremolo bridge. The original tremolo arm is not included. A chrome replacement arm that fits the tremolo will be included, however, it is not a Kahler arm and does not have quite the same shape as a standard Kahler arm (see photos).Weight: 8 lb, 11.3 ozNeck: Slim mahogany neck with aged white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Ebony fingerboard is in terrific shape, and while frets show some wear, they still have a good amount of life left in them. Locking nut measures 1 11/16”. 24 3/4” scale length. Black headstock overlay with aged white Gibson logo and black Grover tuners in perfect working condition. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully fuctioning.Electronics: Humbucker in the bridge position (15.67K ohms) with push/push coil tap. Single coils in the middle (4.18K ohms) and neck (3.11K ohms) positions, with individual on/off toggles for each pickup, and black speed knobs, 1x volume, 1x tone.Case: Original hard shell case included.
