Up for auction is a vintage (serial number 230034) Conn 22B "New York Symphony" trumpet. The bore of the horn is M at .438", or Conn #1 bore. The bell is 4 5/8". This horn looks beautiful and plays very well, with a powerful, penetrating tone. The horn comes as it was built in the factory, with Satin Silver finish and a gold washed bell, as well as no pinky ring as standard. The horn also has both of its original tuning slides for playing in Bb and A. The valves have good compression and feel very mechanically sound, with no wiggle from side to side. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a few small dings here and there and some scratches. The silver plate is also a bit worn around the valve cluster, and the gold in the bell is quite scratched. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. the engraving is still crisp and sharp. This trumpet comes with a mouthpiece in good condition , and a somewhat worn hardshell case.
