Description

So Collins mad some of the bast sounding tube equipment from the late 1940s through the early 60s and this Collins 12Z is evidence of that. The build quality of this surpasses most other American makers of the time and rivals the German equipment made by Telefunken, Eckmiller, EAB, and others of the same period. The 12Z is so overbuilt right down to the machined aluminum knobs. It is packed with huge transformers made by UTC and Thordarson, and attenuators by Daven. It is four inputs with a single output and will run on AC or batteries. I've used these to record simple mono drum tracks and mix several mics on a guitar amp and they sound phenomenal, they are great on vocals, bass and horns as well. This one is in great condition and looks to be stock, I've powered it up with no problems but that is all the testing I have done on it. All the transformers are tested and are good, it should be looked over by a tech to make sure all the caps are 100% before being used. Sold as is as described.
