Description

1957 Fender Stratocaster. Along with the Black Guard Telecaster, the '56-'57 V-neck Stratocaster is certainly the most iconic and prized vintage Fender guitar. This guitar features a refinished body by Fiesta Finishes™. The neck finish is all original.Pickups, pots, tone cap, bridge, trem, saddles, strap buttons, Single Line Kluson tuners, knobs, pickguard, pickup covers, etc. are all original. The guitar has an older pro refret, and plays great. There are a few tiny holes in the face of the headstock, perhaps used to mount an emblem from the music store where it was originally sold in 1957. The trem arm and back trem cover are reproductions. The serial number is 12XXX. The pots are coded 304 704. Body date is 2/57 while the neck date is 4-57. The guitar weighs 7.3 lbs. The original pickups measure, from neck to bridge, 6.0K Ohms, 6.2K Ohms, and 5.9K Ohms. The neck is a nice, big, V shape, measuring .903" at 1st fret and .996" at 12th fret. The sound is pure vintage Strat Bell Tone, exactly what one would expect from a '57 V-Neck Stratocaster. The original Koylon plush red lined tweed case is included, however it is quite worn, has two replaced latches, and has has some repair on the "spine" along where the hinges are located. The case is in fair condition, though perfectly functional, and looks fine.Satisfaction guaranteed. Keep the guitar for 48 hours, and if not fully satisfied, return for a full refund minus shipping charge.Listing may end at any time as guitar is also listed on Gbase, and Reverb. Many more photos can be found on those sites.
