Thank you for viewing my listing. Two Tone 50's type Relic Tele guitar
This is a lovely guitar, lovingly put together over months and with all the right age related nicks and scrapes and scars. It's not a beaten to death with a chain relic; but carefully and sympathetically aged in every way from the cellulose paint to the plastics and everything in between.
This is very much a 'parts' built guitar in that I used up a few things I had; the neck and body were from different builds at first; and deliberately used mismatched screws and saddles to give it its vibe.
*Two piece alder body (built by guitarbuild) finished in a two tone 50s sunburst; maybe a little darker than I would normally spray. This is actually a very 'interesting' body in the right light. It has some very beautiful and subtle figuring to it; and the faded out red looks great.
*Allparts neck, slightly re profiled on the back. Vintage 7 and 1/4 inch profile, vintage size frets. A very comfortable neck. Neck edges softened and rounded; bone nut and so on. I can decal the neck on request.
*Kluson nickel tuners.
*The pickguard and humbucker are probably my favourite bits! 'Celluloid' mimic guard- read PVC (!) but it's a nice colour match for the body (took me a few different ones to get one i thought looked right).  The humbucker was taken out of an old Tokai les paul a few years ago. Its a very nice sounding pickup indeed. I think its partner remained in the Tokai! And the bridge pickup is a good quality Alnico one.
*CTS pots and so on.
This really is a cracking guitar and utterly convincing.
I've done a lot of work on refinishing real deal vintage guitars, both fender's and gibson's and my guitars are all over the world now having been bought by players and collectors alike. Never had anything but surprise at how authentic the work is up close (unfortunately pictures never really capture the subtle details); and my work has always been compared right up there with the few people in this game that really know what they're doing.
This is a guitar that won't disappoint.
