Sinister is definitely a good way to describe this electric guitar The Schecter Synyster Custom is a terrifyingly good instrument modelled after the axe of Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates. Its razor-sharp head, dark colour (black with silver-coloured pin stripes) and fretboard inlays shaped like a skull show you that the Synyster Custom is not for the faint of heart. This Schecter is not for show and should meet the demands of modern metal men and women with its ebony fretboard, Floyd Rose 1000-series bridge and two Seymour Duncan Invader pickups. Schecter Synyster Custom: construction We can't say it often enough: good wood is essential for a good-sounding guitar. The Synyster Custom has a body made of mahogany, a type of wood that is characterised by a warm base tone with sweet mids and a full bass. Its three-part neck is also made of mahogany and smoothly connected to the neck via a set-in construction. The Ultra Access design results in a bevelled heel so smooth, it feels incredibly comfortable and allows for easy playing along the entire fretboard. The fretboard, as we mentioned, is made of ebony for an extra sharp attack. Thanks to the extra jumbo size frets (24 of them) your fingers can really dig into the notes. Components and electronics You can jam away at your heart's content while you're on stage, as the Floyd Rose tremolo bridge and string nuts keep tuning stable even during the wildest divebombs. When it comes to tuning stability, the Grover machine heads also have their part to play. Pickup wise, we see a Seymour Duncan Invader Syn SH-8N at the neck and an Invader Syn TB-8 at the bridge. These pickups were specifically designed to sound like the Synysters as well as to produce a scorching output. Moreover, the push/pull controls allow you to select whether you want to use the pickups as single-coils. From transparent and bright to wide and full, this dark lad with horned head is ready to do your bidding.
