Description

Olivia's Vintage would like to present this original late 1950's Kay Upbeat in its original Sunburst finish. It has a decent playing neck with great frets, but the end of the neck ramps upward causing high action and some fret buzz past the 14th fret. The truss rod adjustment is not working. It's all original with the exception of the reproduction pickguard, the nut, bridge, and a couple of screws. A chipboard case is included. There was a Bigsby installed at one time, but the original tailpiece has been reinstalled. The back and sides show off a nice example of flame maple. There are some nicks + dings, finish checking, and other cosmetic wear including two extra screw holes just above the nut. The electronics work, but both pickups are not working properly as they sound too trebly, the tone controls work like volume controls, and they do not get a reading on the ohms meter.
