Description

Guild' first electric from 1963. This is the funkiest looking guitar ever... just wait, this Jetson's/ space age inspired shape can be hard to swallow at first but it'll grow on you :)This guitar is viewed as an alternative to an early 60's Les Paul Jr., and I totally support that claim. The neck profile, tone (P90 style deArmond) and action on this baby is in a class of it's own. The pickup is quite amazing (clear/full, no harsh highs, vintage "hot") and the placement is perfect for a single pup guitar. You get a lot of colors by playing behind or in front of the pickup. This guitar will make you wonder if 1 pickup is all you ever needed. The resonance and sustain of this instrument is quite unreal. The best guitars I ever owned have a life of their own, even unplugged; this guitar is one of them.I can't make out if there's been a neck break or not but there's a faint rectangle inlay that's levelled and looks darn original at the neck/headstock joint and I can't see any break lines going to the nut (one hairline crack goes towards the nut without reaching it, so faint that my camera can't pick it up). Looks more like a split repair from a skilled luthier. The headstock top is made from what looks like some celluloid veneer and is lifting a bit on the sides... easy fix if you're up to it. Doesn't bother me.1 tuner string post was swapped (1 is a little taller than the others). Tuners are original but 1 side uses philips for "gear center" screw, the other side uses flathead... go figure. Otherwise, everything else is original and unmolested. Will ship securely in a tight-fitting, non-original Ovation case.Flat rate and insurance to Canada/USA.Please carefully review pictures and ask question if needed before buying. This is a final sale.Enjoy!
