Description
Brand: Guild Exact Year: 1964

For sale is a 1964 Guild Starfire IV with original hardshell case.  It is original with the exception of a very old refinish and the B-5 Bigsby (original tailpiece is included).  Expected light scratches and dings.  When I bought the guitar, I exchanged the tailpiece for a B-5 Bigsby which does not need additional screw holes.  The base fit exactly where the tailpiece screw holes are.  The Guild humbuckers sound excellent and frets are worn but still very playable.  The neck profile on this instrument is one of the most comfortable I have played.  It is a bit fatter than my '82 335 but not as fat as a '59 reissue 335.  Nut width is 1 11/16".    I bought this guitar because I have always been a Gibson 335 fan and know that Guild quality in the 60's equaled or exceeded Gibson during that decade. These old Starfires are really a bargain, bringing about a fifth of what a comparable Gibson would.  I am selling only because I will be 70 next month and just don't play as much as I used to.Sales to the lower 48 only.  If you have questions please ask them before you bid/purchase.  Check out my feedback and be assured that I work very hard to make any transaction the best possible.
