2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus Cherry Sunburst AA Flame Maple Top Excellent Condition!!!   Here for your consideration is a beautiful Gibson Les Paul Standard with a stunning Cherry Sunburst AA Flame Maple top.   This guitar has been collector owned and has been meticulously maintained in a smoke free environment that is constantly monitored for proper temperature and humidity, and the guitar has rarely been removed from its original Gibson hard-shell case. This beautiful plus top Les Paul Standard has been a guitar I have enjoyed having in my personal collection, but with several other recent acquisitions it is time for me to part with a few guitars from my collection to help offset some of my recent costs.  The Les Paul Standard has had a professional setup with D’Addario 10 gauge strings to make sure it is playing its very best, and other than being taken out of the case for a half an hour or so a few times, the guitar has had almost no play time at all. Hopefully the pictures will show how beautiful the guitar looks, and looking closely one should easily appreciate the guitar is in near mint condition showing literally no scratches, dings, dents, and of course no damage or repairs. The original Gibson factory build card is included.   The guitar is very comfortable to play in my smaller hands with the fast slim taper neck profile, and the chambered body is very light with the guitar weighing in at a very light and comfortable 7.9 pounds.   The guitar feels extremely well balanced and has very resonant ring when strummed acoustically. The classic Les Paul Standard tones pour out through the Burstbucker dual coil humbucking pickups when amplified, and the guitar covers everything from crisp and clean, to that crunchy growl that has made the Gibson Les Paul Standard one of the most iconic rock guitars of all time.   I have shipped many guitars and always protect them extremely well for transit. The guitar will be carefully packed in a sturdy guitar shipping box, and shipped via FEDEX ground in the 48 states to ensure the new owner receives it in the same excellent/ near mint condition. Ebay fees are pretty high, so I know what I need to clear on this guitar, and I really can't accept offers here. I do have the guitar listed locally on the well known classified internet site, and on a well known music instrument sales site, so I do reserve the right to cancel the Ebay listing at at any time if it should sell elsewhere. Please don't contact me through Ebay asking me to sell you the guitar outside of Ebay. All sales made as a result of this Ebay post will be made through Ebay.If you do your own web searching of other sales sites you might find it and inquire through those sites, but Ebay policies prohibit sellers offering to sell outside of Ebay or accepting offers to sell outside Ebay. Thanks for your understanding.   If there are any questions, please just let me know. Thanks for looking!   Slim Taper 60s Neck Profile The 2008 Les Paul Standard features the slim taper 60s neck profile that has long been considered by many as the most comfortable neck profile Gibson ever designed, and it feels just right in my smaller hands.  This neck is full enough to feel solid and reassuring, however it is also slim enough to be fast and very easy to play. This neck profile was long considered by most players as being the superior design when compared to the chunky ‘50s neck profile that was also marketed by Gibson for many years. Chambered Mahogany Body Every new 2008 Les Paul Standard will benefit from Gibson’s proven chambering technique, which leaves each guitar with perfect tone, balance, and weight. Prior to gluing the maple cap on top of the mahogany body, the expert craftsmen at Gibson USA carve out carefully mapped-out chambers in the body using a Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) router. The positioning of the routes was established after careful examination of the resonant characteristics of the Les Paul. Gibson approached this process with the awareness that every change to the formula would have repercussions on the instrument’s sound. So, in addition to relieving the stress on a player’s back and shoulder, these lighter Gibson guitars also enhance the tone palette in a manner unique only to these guitars. The results are comfortable, lightweight guitars that are acoustically louder, with increased sustain and resonance. Pickups: Gibson Burstbucker Pros Gibson’s drive to recapture the magic of the original “Patent Applied For” humbucker pickups of the 1950s culminated with the introduction of the Burstbucker line in the early 1990s. In 2002, Gibson followed up this innovative accomplishment with yet another breakthrough in pickup design—the Burstbucker Pro, designed specifically for the new Les Paul Standards. The Burstbucker Pro features an Alnico V magnet (instead of the Alnico II), which offers slightly higher output and allows preamps to be driven a little harder to achieve a more natural break-up. Like all Burstbuckers, the Burstbucker Pro has asymmetrical coils—true to the original PAFs—which supply a more open sound. The Burstbucker Pro Neck is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Burstbucker Pro Bridge is slightly overwound for increased output. The Burstbucker Pro pickups are also wax potted to allow loud volume pressures with minimal feedback. Revolutionary Plek Set Up The 2008 Les Paul Standard is one of the first models from Gibson USA to utilize the revolutionary Plek machine in setting up the guitar. The Plek is a German-made, computer controlled machine that carefully measures each fret, along with the fingerboard height under each string, and then automatically dresses each fret, virtually eliminating string buzz and greatly improving the overall playability of the guitar. This pioneering process does in minutes what it takes a luthier several hours—sometimes even days—to accomplish. Every fret is accurately aligned, and the guitar is properly intonated, leaving the instrument “Plek’d” and amazingly playable. .
