For sale is my Burny RSA 65 Semi-Acoustic guitar that I have transformed to look, sound and feel like the Gibson Chris Cornell 335.As soon as the Gibson Chris Cornell model was released I was instantly hooked. Unfortunately, my bank balance wasn't as attractive as the guitar so I decided to create one myself, for a lot less money.I bought a second-hand Burny RSA65 for £400 that was originally in Cherry Red. I kept it the way it was for the first few months to make sure I was happy with it how it sounded as it was. Afterall, there's no point in polishing a turd is there!?I then began the painstaking process of trying to source and buy all the required parts to make my Burny look, sound and feel exactly like the Chris Cornell model. Here are the upgrades and costs:Genuine Bigsby B7 Tremolo unit - £180
The Creamery Black Cat Humbucker Sized Filtertron Pickups with 'H' style nickel covers - £160
Grover 502C Locking Tuners - £110
Complete refinish/rebuild/rewire/ageing process and setup by Dennis Yau at DY Guitars - £250
Generic Tan Leather Case - £80The only thing I couldn't source was the clear Volume and Tone knobs but to be honest I prefer the black witch hat ones I went with in the end. Also, the Chris Cornell model has Lollar Filtertrons but after listening to them up against the Creamery set the difference was miniscule (at least to my ears). The last photo shows my guitar on the left and the Chris Cornell model on the right so you can compare the 2 side-by-side.This is a very reluctant sale as in all I've spent over £1100 turning my guitar into the Chris Cornell model (I haven't included the case cost in that amount). If you're after that look, feel and sound but for a lot less money then this is the guitar for you - you won't be disappointed. If anyone has any questions please feel free to drop me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. The winning bidder is to make contact within 48 hours of the end of the auction otherwise the item will be re-listed and the appropriate feedback left.If payment is received before 5pm the item will be posted the same day. For larger items, such as guitars, they will be dispatched the next working day though I will make every effort to dispatch on the same day that payment is received.Postage will be by Parcelforce (though local collection is also welcome) and the guitar will be well packaged and safe in transit.Check out my other items for sale.Happy bidding and good luck!
