Up for a buy it now or B/O is a early to mid 60s Kay Speed Demon triple pickup guitar in translucent red. By far the best price on one of these on Ebay (there is another one with the trem for 1050.00 listed on Ebay, and the finish on mine looks WAY better!!!) This guitar is in pretty nice shape for its age. I cant read the pot codes on the all original harness without removing them, which I did not feel like doing as I did not want to disturb the original electronics, so I am guessing early to mid 60s, and I am not sure how else to accurately date these. The original translucent red finish is really quite nice on the entire guitar, with the only damage of note on the tip and edge of the headstock where it is worn and chipped, other than that, it is really nice especially considering it is 50 or so years old!!! The neck is very straight with excellent original frets, that just had a professional very slight level, crown and polish so it plays better than most Kays and better than new. The rosewood fingerboard is like new and a very nice piece of rosewood was used on this guitar! The truss rod works perfect, and the guitar just plays really well with low action up and down the entire fingerboard. This is a hard to find original 3 pickup with tremelo version, though the trem is missing the arm, and at one point another regular trapeze tailpiece was on it which left a few tiny screw holes on the butt of the guitar, but the original is obviously back on now. The tuners look like they may have been replaced, but the ferrules look original, and one knob was replaced. Other than that it seems all straight to me, but correct me if I am wrong as I am not to familiar with these so check the pics!. The 3 pickups all work and sound great, and all of the original volume and tone controls work perfectly. The rotary original selector switch turns in a complete 360 degree circle, not sure if it is supposed to, but it gives tons of tonal variations and works fine, and a few of the clicks are like a standby. The guitar comes shipped in the nice well fitted soft case shown. Please look at all the pics as they show the actual condition.
