San Clemente Presbyterian Church is selling their 9-foot Steinway & Sons concert Model D. It was manufactured in 1921.Serial number: 206885Case number: Y3398This piano sounds great, despite being in a very-worn condition. Because this is a church with a long history and therefore much staff turnover, it's been difficult to track down many details surrounding it's history, however we do know it was donated in the 1970's. Although maintenance records have been lost, we can say that it has been regularly serviced and tuned (at least 4x per year) for the past 5 years. As stated above:INTERIOR: Action is fairly uneven around the lower-end of the piano. The G392 hz and G196 hz occasionally stick. The ivory keys have moderate wear.EXTERIOR: Satin-ebony finish has some chipping and scratches mostly around the keyboard and is faded throughout. Music rack is not original - appears to be from an earlier model Steinway.Despite these defects, the piano sounds great and with some investment could certainly be brought to near-new condition.
