Thanks for visiting! I recently hand-built this instrument inspired by Jerry Garcia's custom guitars. This is a through-neck design with a 5 layer neck made from Flame Maple and Black Walnut with an Ebony fretboard. The body is made from 5 layers Black Walnut, Maple and Purpleheart with a Burl Walnut top. Weight is right at 8 lbs with easy access to all 24 frets and a very comfortable body shape with fully rounded edges. It strings through the body to increase resonance and sustain.
The 25" scale neck profile is similar shape to Fenders 60's "c" shape. There are 24 medium/jumbo nickle-silver frets (Stewart Macdonald #0149) and Abalone planetary dot inlays and brass side dots. This guitar has 2 Dimarzio Super 2 humbuckers and a Dimarzio SDS-1 single coil. There is a master volume and a tone control for just the middle pickup and a tone for both the neck and bridge pickups. Each humbucker also has its own coil split mini toggle switch. I designed the electrical compartment so it would be possible to add an on board effects loop (obel) like on Jerry's Guitars if desired. I can add the obel for $100 extra using either the TPC-1 buffer from Wald electronics or the CB-1 from CAE Sound. I can also adjust the strings and setup to your specs. Any mods would need to be a separate transaction after buying the guitar, please allow about a week for mods. Free shipping to continental U.S. and hard case.
