Beautiful Japanese Built Yamaha Cherry Burst Studio Lord Les Paul Standard. Here is a beautiful old Japanese warrior from the awesome lawsuit era of Japanese Les Pauls. She's a Yamaha Studio Lord Standard Les Paul SL500. Made somewhere between 1976-80 I think. Serial 005346. It's a higher end Japanese model featuring a set maple neck (not a cheaper bolt-on). Mahogany body and rosewood fretboard. The action is superb & the original vintage pups sound awesome, with a really fat grungy tone, slightly bright due to the maple neck. A really nice sound. These were built solely for the Japanese domestic market, not for export. This one was brought over recently from Japan. Of course she's been played and looks all the better for it imo. She really nice natural relicing with yellowed plastic and binding and a nice vintage look & feel to all the metal hardware. She is non-chambered and has no structural or electrical issues. Like I said she as plenty of cool playwear, dings scratches etc but importantly nothing harsh, absolutely no breaks or repairs. The neck is dead straight. Plenty of life in the frets. Truss rod turning. No gig bag but she will come very well protected bubble wrapped in a padded purpose designed guitar shipping box. The cost of importing something like this from Japan now with the £ so low would be pretty high. Don't miss it, once she's gone she's gone.
