Wow, what an oddball! An EXTREMELY limited run Fender guitar. A very rare and cool creation. This guitar shares a similar story to other Fender oddballs like the 60s Fender Arrow and Swinger.  Fender discontinued the Stratosonic model a few years back. Deep in the Fender factory, parts were leftover. Rather than check them in the dumpster, the parts are reassembled into a new model. The Stratosonic is a melding of Fender and Gibson DNA. It actually reminds me of a 60s Epiphone Coronet in the rare silver fox finish. A pretty cool rocker with some hip features. Made in the USA. The body is made of mahogany for great tone. The 24.75 inch scale maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with Perloid dot inlays. A single Fender Black Dove P-90 delivers gutbucket tone. Fender cool Tectonic wraparound bridge and sealed tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is a very cool transparent Butterscotch Blonde. Fender describes it as a "knocked down" satin finish. To me, it looks like an American Vintage reissue's lacquer finish. It doesn't look anything like a Highway One satin. It has more gloss and the best way I could describe it is by saying it looks like a Fender Thin Skin with Gibson's VOS treatment thrown in for vibe. Really cool looking. The single ply guard covers a factory neck pickup rout. This is one of the most unique Fender guitars I've seen in years. really cool looking in a strange way, it is sure to be rare and collectible in coming years. This Fender plays and sounds great. The neck is straight and the action is good. The frets are in great shape. The P90 pickup delivers great rock tones and has tons of versatility. Everything works as it should. This is a nice, clean guitar. Collector owned, it was bought new and recently traded in. The finish from the factory has an aged look to it new. This one still has the cellophane on the back plate. The Guitar includes Case candy and a fender pro series Hardshell Case. This is easily one of the coolest recent Fenders I've had in awhile. Rare, unique, and a great rock guitar to boot. American made quality. You aren't going to find these in your local superstores. Fender only had a handful for sale. This may be your only chance to grab one.Serial Number: Z3001111Time of Manufacture: 2003Place of Manufacture: Corona Plant, California.
