What makes this guitar special: A beautiful ebony standard with some cool features unique to this year-deluxe locking Grover tuners to make restrings an absolute breeze, and a set of push-pull coil tapped ’57 Classic humbuckers for added tonal variance and possibility. A previous owner sanded down the clear coat on the back and sides of the guitar, for who knows what reason…but they actually did a pretty great job and there only a handful of areas where you can see a difference in the finish. Curiously, they left most of the clear coat on the neck, but it still plays like butter up and down the length of the fingerboard. In any case, it’s a great playing guitar with a lot of character, and outstanding playability. It’s been gone over by our luthier and set up with fresh strings and low action, so it’ll play great right out of the case.Cosmetic condition: Great condition overall, with a handful of surface scratches, nicks, dings, dents, and scuffs. The clear coat on the guitar has been sanded down on the back and sides of the body, as well as the back and sides of the headstock. The clear coat on the neck appears to have been sanded down just a touch as well. The pearloid inlays show some browning, and the pickguard is missing.Body: Solid mahogany body with bound maple cap in ebony finish with tune-o-matic bridge, chrome stopbar tailpiece, and cream colored pickup bezels.Weight: 10 lb, 3.5ozNeck: Medium profile mahogany neck with black side dots and pearl trapezoid inlays. Double bound dark rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape, and frets show only light wear, with a ton of life left in them. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Grover locking tuners function perfectly. Black headstock overlay with pearl Gibson logo, gold Les Paul signature, and “Standard” truss rod cover. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.Electronics: Dual ’57 Classic humbuckers (Neck-7.82K ohms, Bridge-8.33K ohms) with push-pull coil taps, 3-way pickup selector switch, and gold tophat knobs, 2x volume, 2x tone.Case: Original hard shell case included. Case has taken a serious beating over the years, but all latches work and interior is still in good shape.
