Up for sale is an Alexander 103 copy. There's no engraving on it. From the previous owner: It was made in Eastern Europe in the mid 1950's, unplayable before but has been redone and well repaired. From me: It is actually a pretty good horn especially for the price. It has a nice Alex sound and plays better than some Alex 103's I have played in the past. Free blowing with a nice touch of resistance. Articulations are clear and the upper register is easier to play (coming from someone with a $6000 horn). For me, it has more core in its sound. Overall it's a nice horn for an intermediate student or amateur who wants more of a German Horn sound. I really don't want to let this go but family issues have popped up. It includes a backpack case that's light yet protective. My recommendation to up it up is to get a custom leadpipe and the bell cut and get an Alex bell to bring it to an Advanced level. (Isn't needed but if you want to go the extra mile) Physical Condition: It's unlacquered, valves and slides move freely. Slight dings and dents but nothing that would effect the sound.
