From Epiphone's highly regarded Elite (later to be called Elitist) line. Made in Japan to the highest standards of quality. Many players prefer these to more expensive Gibsons. Nice attention to detail and good feel. The specs are almost identical to the more expensive USA Gibsons. The body is mahogany with a carved maple top. The one piece mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays. Dual Gibson USA 50SR and 50ST humbuckers dish out classic tone. A Tuneomatic bridge, Stopbar tailpiece and Grover Rotomatic tuners keep it rock solid. American made toggle switch and quality electronics. The finish is a gorgeous Piano Black. A really nice SG that compares favorably to more expensive Gibsons.Like many Japanese built guitars, this SG plays great. These were built in the same factory as the highly regarded Gretsch reissues. A very comfortable guitar with good frets, nice action and great feel. The pickups sound excellent and the electronics work as they should. Condition wise, this one shows some Light wear but is still solid. It shows moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches as well as some Minor Impressions. Nothing too major. Still a nice looking guitar which represents great Value. Comes in the original Elite Epiphone Hardcase.Epiphone no longer offers this model. A shame really as they were excellent instruments for the money. This is an early Elite model making it unique.
